Meet The Pastor

The Reverend Ronald A. Boykin

The Reverend Ronald A. Boykin is the distinguished pastor of the historic Seaton Memorial African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church in Lanham, Maryland. He is an extraordinary man of God, with specialized gifts in church building, stewardship and evangelism. Pastor Boykin is known for his dedication and service to people all over the Washington Metropolitan area for decades of commitment and care

Pastor Boykin began his ministerial career in 1978 and founded Waldorf AME Church in Waldorf, MD which is now known as New Hope AME Church in 1985.  He served as the pastor of Campfield AME Church in Pikesville, MD and then Mt. Pisgah AME Church in Columbia, MD before being assigned to the servant position of Pastor of First AME Manassas in 1993, where he served faithfully for 20 years.  During his tenure at First AME Church, he led in the erection of two building projects, community revitalization and property acquisition in excess of fifteen acres, tripled membership and tremendous increase in all areas.  The Reverend Ronald A. Boykin was appointed as the pastor of Seaton Memorial in April 2014 by Bishop William Phillips DeVeaux.

Pastor Boykin has served in leadership capacities in the church and community. His influence and advice are sought by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the Prince Hall Masons of Washington, DC, the Eastern Star, the Prince William County Clergy and a host of other ministries, organizations and committees. He served two terms as leader of the Ministerial Alliance of the Washington Conference and Vicinity, and was recognized as an outstanding pastor of the Washington Metropolitan area by Praise 103 in 2014.

Pastor Boykin has over fifteen sons and daughters in ministry all over the region, and is sought after as a revivalist, conference speaker and religious instructor. His schedule is dedicated to fulfilling the great commission, and helping others develop a closer walk with God.

Rev. Boykin is a humble man of God. He lives according to the word of God, especially the familiar passage from Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths.”
